The system works by extracting stale air containing moisture, pollutants, and odours from wet rooms such as kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms. Instead of losing the heat from this air, the MVHR unit recovers and retains the heat that has already been generated in your home through heating, cooking, and showering.
At the same time, the system brings fresh air from outside into the property. This fresh air passes through a heat exchanger, where it is warmed using the recovered heat before being distributed throughout your home.
This process helps maintain good indoor air quality while reducing heat loss, making MVHR systems both energy efficient and comfortable.
Because the system provides continuous, balanced ventilation, it can also eliminate the need for trickle vents and other traditional forms of ventilation.
